Age & Birthday: 26 | 27 Feb 2001
Blood Status: The Patils are pure. The Goldsteins are halfbloods with a long history.
Schooling: Hogwarts, Ravenclaw, 2012-2019. Charms Club, Art Club.

Gender & Pronouns: Female, She/her

APPEARANCE
Height: 5'4
Hair: Dark brown, some highlights
Eyes: Dark brown
Manner of Dress: Long tops and flowy tunics, close-fitting sleeves or no sleeves at all. Likes embroidery. Belted jackets. The occasional little black dress. A few pieces of simple gold jewelry that go with everything. Never goes out without eye makeup, which is heavy-duty and long-lasting enough to survive reentry.
General Vibes: Sunita comes across as kind, more sisterly than motherly. She seems trustworthy, like someone you'd accept a cup of tea from with no questions even if you didn't know her. She seems like she would give good advice.
Notable Features: A slightly large nose, a bigger smile. Several monochrome tattoos representing her family and other loved ones (a lotus for her mum, etc).

PERSONALITY
Artistic She was lucky enough to inherited her mum's eye for detail without so much of her judgemental nature. Unlike Padma, she would never side-eye someone for wearing outdated clothes. (She might find something to compliment them on about the outdated clothes, which may come across as insincere or sarcastic to the wrong person, but her intentions are good.) She's good at putting together an outfit and loves to help people pick out what to wear for an interview or a big date.
Gentle Sunita is a calming person to be around, exuding a peaceful confidence that can be very relaxing, like white noise. She gives people space, and knows how to love without being overbearing. Particularly forceful people can find her a little wishy-washy as a result.
Thoughtful Sometimes there's an air of sadness to her. It may just be her quiet nature, but she can seem to be lost in thought, with an air of soft mystery. Whatever she's been through, though, she is kind.
Empathetic It's easy to imagine telling her your problems, and people often do. She doesn't judge, and tends to be more of a sounding board than anything, letting people work things out on their own. When she does give advice, it's more along the lines of "It sounds like you want to do ______."
Open-minded With Hindu family on one side and Jewish on the other, you might expect her to have gone through some kind of identity crisis about it. But she doesn't feel any conflict between family cultures. She loves both the Goldsteins and Patils and finds both sides interesting, celebrates all the holidays, finds comfort and belonging with them, and extends the same to most, if not all, cultures and beliefs.

HISTORY
Notable Family Members:
Anthony Goldstein, father. Padma Goldstein (nee Patil), mother. Both Ravenclaws, class of 98/99. Anthony is a wand keeper, managing various branches of Ollivanders for the current owner, Gudrun Ollivander (granddaughter of Garrick, and Not A People Person), scheduling clerks and maintaining their catalogue of wands. Padma works for a wizarding psychiatry clinic and paints silks in her free time. She sells her work, mostly scarves, at a wizarding boutique.

History:

Parents: Anthony Goldstein and Padma Patil were in the same house and year, but didn't really get to know each other until their fifth, when they not only became co-prefects but both joined Dumbledore's Army: Padma through her sister, Anthony through his friend Michael. Though Anthony had always been outgoing and had friends in other houses and years (and had even gone to the Yule Ball with an older girl), that year was instrumental in helping Padma open up more and gain more confidence. In time what was a seemingly mismatched partnership became more friendly, and she became closer with other fellow housemates as well. Still, they didn't think much further than OWLs and Umbridge, and when everything went back to normal next year, despite the Patil parents not wanting their kids to come back, they assumed their little rebellion was done. Dumbledore's death, the attack on the castle, and the open resumption of the war caught them completely off guard.

After the war, they were among the few people in their year to go back and finish their school and NEWTs. Throughout that extra year they became even closer, especially since some of their best friends (Terry, Parvati, Lavender) had chosen not to come back. It naturally turned into them rooming together after school, which turned (eventually, but not as soon as Anthony would've liked) into dating. Starting a family wasn't in their plans at that point -- they were busy enough with work and being the mum and dad of their friend group -- but life, uh, finds a way, and they welcomed little Sunita into the world in early 2001, at just 21 years old.

Childhood: Those first few years were far from flush. Anthony's research internship didn't pay well, and though Padma had enjoyed her mediwitch training, the hours were long and the stress constant. Eventually she left St Mungo's for their friend Terry's practice. Meanwhile, Anthony was realizing that he didn't like academia, and began bouncing from one Ministry department to another in an attempt to find a better fit. Sunita grew up in this atmosphere of sacrifice and searching, learning passively about passion and service, then putting those lessons into practice when her brother was born. Luckily she was always a giving child, tending and dressing her dolls with all the care her mum had given her, and she was delighted to have a real brother to dote on, and proud to show him off to her friends.

Padma took up painting, finding a new hobby, talent, and form of therapy. Anthony continued to work through the Ministry, making the most of an imperfect situation for the sake of his family. The breakthrough came at an unexpected time. One day he heard that Ollivanders was hiring a shop manager. Having met the current owner during Sunita's school shopping, he could understand why, and the thought of it wouldn't leave his head. On impulse, he stopped in to visit. He sent in his formal resignation that night and started his new job the next day, organizing their stock so that not only someone with an Ollivander's memory could find what they needed.

Hogwarts: Sunita didn't get to see her dad's career change this time, as she'd already left for school. She slipped off into Ravenclaw like her parents, and soon failed to distinguish herself in any obvious way. She was intelligent enough but not a good studier, naturally quiet but happy to be around other people who were talking. She spent more time in the common room than the library, and more time listening to people than speaking. She rarely raised her hand in class but didn't hesitate to answer when called on. She drew intricate designs in the margins of her notes but her essays were pristine. Her marks were middling for the most part and she never became a prefect, but she was generally well-liked, if a little too quiet to be really popular.

While she never hated school, for a long time she didn't seem like the sort of child who was benefitting from it much. She was always more interested in people than in classes, and though she learned how to do the basics and she enjoyed the social aspect in her own way, she didn't seem really interested in any particular study until after OWLs. She only continued on with three classes she'd chosen to keep: Charms, Care of Magical Creatures and History of Magic, hardly the most useful or ambitious combination. But after focusing she actually got much better in all three, and particularly in Charms. Her parents were relieved that even if she didn't have the best NEWTs she at least managed respectable marks in them.

Adulthood: Since Charms was the most marketable of her skills, Padma found her work with a jeweler friend. Sunita enjoyed the work and found she was good at both the design and charming: particularly at charming jewelry so it would return to its owner (defined as whoever wore it the most). From there she went on to learn other types of metalwork and charming. Though she'll always love jewelry-making, she has a soft spot in her heart for cauldrons, and buckles and zippers are a big part of her business. All in all, though she doesn't make a great deal of money yet and isn't advanced enough to get into the really difficult work like Snitch-making, she's made a pleasant little life for herself, helped along by the fact that she somehow keeps dating significantly older, established men.

When she first got an invitation to live at Henhurst, she was actually living with one of these boyfriends, a man who had children nearly her age. At the time she was happy and comfortable, and decided against moving. After a couple more months, however, they've split up. Not quite wanting to live alone again so soon, she was happy to learn that spots were still available and made the necessary arrangements with Sir Forsythe.

Relating to/liking people, taking care of them, remembering their needs
